CPSC's January 2026 withdrawal of acceptance for four Chinese labs
On 15 January 2026 CPSC published a statement withdrawing accreditation from four Chinese laboratories. If your children's product certificate relies on a report from one of them, read this.

The four labs in the statement
CPSC's statement lists these former CPSC-accepted laboratories, with the reasons CPSC gave:
- 1843: Shenzhen GTT Testing Technology Co., Ltd. (falsified test reports, undisclosed relocation)
- 1755: Dongguan True Safety Testing Co., Ltd. (violated testing rules, accreditation suspended, failed to disclose)
- 1857: Fujian Berton Testing Service Co., Ltd. (violated testing rules, accreditation revoked, failed to disclose)
- 1710: Shenzhen HUAK Testing Technology Co., Ltd. (certified furniture that later failed tip-over testing; systemic failures for children's products)

What CPSC said about existing certifications
The statement advises manufacturers and retailers that certifications from the listed laboratories are no longer accepted by CPSC.

The later list does not match
CPSC's list of labs with adverse action, as of 1 May 2026, shows final action dates for 1755 (12 March 2026), 1843 (27 January 2026) and 1857 (27 January 2026), each noted as an initial withdrawal on 8 January 2026. Lab 1710 is not on that list.
We could not confirm the current status of lab 1710. Check the CPSC lab search directly before you rely on it, and ask the lab for written confirmation.

How to check the lab on your certificate
- Find the four-digit CPSC lab ID on each test report behind your certificate.
- Look the lab up in CPSC's lab search and confirm it is currently accepted for the rule you are testing against.
- If a report came from one of the four labs above, talk to your broker or a CPSC-accepted lab about retesting. A retest means a new Version ID in the Registry.
- When you enter the lab in the Registry, reference an accepted lab by its CPSC ID with type ITL. Entering it as type LAB means it will not be recognized as an independent third-party lab.

What CertPrepy does here
CertPrepy flags lab withdrawals it knows about against the lab IDs on your certificates, and checks that accepted labs are entered as ITL. We do not decide whether an old report is still good for your product. That is a call for you, your lab and your attorney.
