Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and CertPrepy LLC, a Colorado limited liability company (“CertPrepy”, “we”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you use CertPrepy for a company, you confirm you can bind that company.

1. What CertPrepy is

CertPrepy is software. It helps you prepare CPSC certificate data, check it, export it, and keep track of it. We do not provide legal advice, testing, certification or customs services.

2. You are the certifier

As the importer, you are the certifier of your products and you stay legally responsible for your certificates. You certify in the CPSC Product Registry yourself. Someone at your company clicks Certify. CertPrepy never certifies for you.

3. No customs business, no legal advice

CertPrepy does no customs business. Your customs broker files your entries. Scope checks, rule pages and guides are general information with a last-verified date. They are not legal advice and they are not a determination about your product. See the disclaimer.

4. What CertPrepy never does

• We never certify on your behalf.
• We never build the per-entry CBP data or choose which certificate goes on which invoice line.
• We never suggest tariff codes beyond 6 digits.
• We never file anything with CBP.
• We never tell you your product complies with the rules.

5. AI extraction

We may use AI to read your lab reports and suggest certificate fields. A suggestion can be wrong. You review and confirm every field before it is used, and you are responsible for the data you confirm.

6. Your account and data

Keep your sign-in email secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must have the right to upload the documents you upload. If you connect a CPSC Registry API token or a Shopify store, you authorize CertPrepy to use it on your behalf for the features you use. See the privacy policy.

7. Prices, billing and refunds

Prices are fixed and in US dollars: $39 per certificate; Starter $29 a month or $249 a year for up to 10 active certificates; Growth $59 a month or $490 a year for up to 50 active certificates; and the held-shipment fix kit at $199. We do not offer discounts, coupons or custom deals. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Subscriptions renew until you cancel in the billing portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal. If you ask within 14 days of a payment, we refund that payment in full.

8. Acceptable use

• Do not enter false or invented information in a certificate.
• Do not use CertPrepy to evade a CPSC or CBP requirement or to certify products you do not import or make.
• Do not attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to send spam.
• Do not share your account or resell the service.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

CertPrepy is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it is error-free, that rule data is complete or current, or that CPSC, CBP or your broker will accept your data. Rule data can change without notice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, CertPrepy is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including held or refused shipments, storage costs, penalties, lost sales or lost profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Termination

You can stop using CertPrepy and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or misuse the service. You can ask for an export of your data, see the privacy policy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and update the date. If a change is material we will email account holders.
