Conditional rules

These rules apply only when the condition fits your product.

Notes

ASTM F2640-18 via 16 CFR 1237. Car booster seats are motor vehicle equipment under NHTSA, not this rule. Phthalates (16 CFR 1307) apply because a product designed to facilitate feeding of children 3 and younger is a 'child care article' under 16 CFR 1307.2(b); CPSC's Feb 2009 guidance gives a sippy cup as an example. Durable infant or toddler product: also needs a product registration card (16 CFR 1130) and tracking labels; neither is a lab test, so they are not listed as rules here.

Other requirements

  • Product registration card (16 CFR 1130)
  • Tracking label (CPSIA section 103) on product and packaging
