Scope
Third-party testing list: Nursing pillows manufactured after April 23, 2025; maternity pillows, sling carriers, and soft infant and toddler carriers are exempt (16 CFR 1242.1(c)).
Certificate and testing
- The rule is not on CPSC's list of rules requiring a General Certificate of Conformity.
- Third-party testing by a CPSC-accepted lab applies for children's products, with a Children's Product Certificate.
