Safety Standard for Infant Support Cushions

Scope
Third-party testing list: Infant support cushions, including infant positioners, nursing pillows with a dual use for lounging, infant loungers, and infant props or cushions; manufactured after May 5, 2025. Products covered by another 16 CFR 1130.2(a) standard are exempt (nursing pillows that are also loungers are not).
Certificate and testing
- The rule is not on CPSC's list of rules requiring a General Certificate of Conformity.
- Third-party testing by a CPSC-accepted lab applies for children's products, with a Children's Product Certificate.
- Lab accreditation scope paragraph: 16 CFR 1112.15(b)(57).
- Incorporated standard: Own requirements in part 1243.
